Are you a UK National or Passport Holder in Tenerife and wish to apply for, renew or replace a UK Passport without leaving the island? Then you’ve come to the right place!
The online procedure is relatively straightforward. Firstly, go to the official passport website HERE
It will then take you through a series of questions, which should lead you to a blue page with instructions on how to apply. The three steps to complete are:
- Get a digital passport photo
- Apply for the passport and pay online
- Send your old passport back in the post
The online system walks you through each stage with full explanations. You can directly upload a compliant digital passport photo to the website from your PC or mobile device.
For online applications from anywhere in Spain, the current fee is £88.50 GBP plus a £19.86 courier fee (to send the new passport out to you in Tenerife).
The website states that the turnaround time to receive your new passport is approximately 4 weeks. However, it fails to state whether this is from the date you file your online application, or the date they receive your old passport back in the post. Either way, applicants are strongly advised to apply as early as possible before any proposed travel dates, just in case there are any administrative, postal, or Covid-related delays.
